IDOT Burnham Bridge Rehabilitation

RMCA is currently providing Phase III, Construction Engineering services for IDOT on the $6 million Burnham Bridge Project. RMCA provides, project management services, an Assistant Resident Engineer and two field inspectors to this project, along with our sub consultants to successfully complete this project. This project, while very extensive and challenging, here are some areas of the project in which RMCA is diligently responding to:
- Coordinating bridge closure schedule with local municipalities and businesses
- Calculated quantities to verify contract documents
- Performed cost estimates for authorizations on work
- Provided QA/AC
- Contractor coordination and oversight
- Measurement and documentation of quantities
- Traffic control monitoring
- Contract ministration
- Abutment back-wall and approach slab reconstruction, along with reconstruction of barrier median and expansion joint
- Structural concrete repair
- Elastomeric bearing replacement
- Latex concrete overlay, and HMA approach slab resurfacing
We anticipate completion of this project to be August of 2010.
Illinois Toll-Highway Authority

RMCA is currently providing Project/Construction Management services to the Illinois Toll-Highway Authority $6 billion Congestion Relief Plan. Since 2005, RMCA has provided Project Management and Construction Management overseeing some of the Plan's most aggressive projects, including the completion of multiple Open Toll Road Tolling Plaza renovations and mainline reconstruction projects. In addition, to the PM/CM services, the RMCA team also provides Program Controls services, including Scheduling, Information Technology, Document Control, and GIS services. Throughout the life of this project providing Project Management Services as well as a Project Scheduler. During our time working through this project, we have and will continue to perform the following duties to ensure the client a successful project:
- Perform random audits of the Construction Manager in all aspects of their duties
- Enforce quality programs such as inspections of maintaince of traffic, erosion and sediment control compliance
- Monitor and ensure the CM is following Tollway ISO procedures
- Facilitate in development of Change Order and Extra Work Order
- Attend Field meetings as needed and report back to the Tollway Project Manager
- Provide technical assistance
- Review project construction contract shop drawings
- Facilitate communication between the contractors and Project Manager
IDOT District One

RMCA provided Phase III, Construction Inspection Services to the Illinois Department of Transportation on various projects in the district one area. We performed multiple duties such as documentation of contract quantities, thorough and constant inspection of work, along with documenting and troubleshooting field issues associated with any given area of the project.
There were three major areas of this project. One area was located in Blue Island at 127th and Maple/Western Ave, just past Gregory Street, this project included the following:
- Street widening
- A new signalized intersection on 127th Street
- New storm sewers, street lighting, and traffic signals
- We assisted in PCC base course widening
- New curb and gutter, asphalt surface, and landscaping
- Assisting in bituminous widening
- New drainage, traffic signals, curb, lighting and resurfacing
- New drainage, widening, light and traffic signal replacement
The other area of work was located in Park Forest with stretched from Western Ave at US 30 to Sauk Trail. This project consisted of:

Illinois Tollway Authority I-94 Widening

As a sub-consultant to both Teng & Associates and McDonough Associates, RMCA provided Construction Inspection services to the Illinois Tollway Authority on the I-94 Southbound Widening Project. This project included the southbound roadway widening and bridge reconstruction along the I-94 corridor. Throughout the life of this project, RMCA was successful in completing office engineering, responsible for updating submittal logs/RFI logs, plan reviews, preparation of Authorization to Proceed, Change Orders, Extra Work Orders, file management through Web Based Project Management System, and manage, roadway, roadway appurtenance and drainage field inspection, traffic control inspection, implement and ensure compliance with erosion and sediment control schedule, and etc. The specific locations in which we worked on are as follows:
